Obituary for John Richard Klink

John Richard Klink, a 58-year resident of Twentynine Palms, died at the Continuing Care Center in Joshua Tree on Feb. 5, 2019. He was 66 years old.

The son of William Richard and Viola Lorraine (Breuer) Klink, he was born Jan. 13, 1953, in Hartford, Wisconsin.

He worked for Doblers Food Service for 16 years and was an MCCS store worker for 21 years before his retirement.

John love collecting baseball cards and was an avid sports fan. He loved the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by daughter Kristin Klink, father William R. Klink, sister Jacqueline Voeltz, brother James Klink and nephew Charles Voeltz.

He is survived by daughters Melissa Stewart (Kelly), of Joshua Tree, and Erin Klink, of Yucca Valley; grandsons Toby Stewart and Derin Burton; mom Viola L. Klink, of Twentynine Palms; sister Jeri Tomes, of Twentynine Palms; and brother Joel Klink (Tory), of Twentynine Palms.

He is also survived by nephews James Tomes (Sara), of Yucca, Arizona, Bryce Tomes (Lisa), of Warrenton, Virginia, Kyle Voeltz, of Twentynine Palms, Andrew Klink, of San Diego, and Matthew Klink (Monica), of Twentynine Palms; nieces Stephanie Hemiller (Jeff), of Yucca, Arizona, Shannon Shay (William), of Twentynine Palms, and Amanda Luzier (Justin), of Lakenheath, England.

He is also survived by five great-nephews and six great-nieces.

A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Smith Ranch in Twentynine Palms.

Graveside services will be private.
